The season will now provisionally kick off at Donington Park over the weekend of August 1-2, starting a packed schedule which will see no fewer than four meetings in five weekends.
Kent’s iconic Brands Hatch follows on August 8-9, with Oulton Park (August 22-23) and a trip north of the border to Knockhill (August 29-30) taking place before the month is out.
The dates form part of a slightly-truncated 27-race calendar, which will conclude on the Brands Hatch GP circuit over the weekend of November 14-15 after trips to Thruxton, Silverstone and Snetterton.
All dates are provisional and subject to change pending any future government directives.
When the action eventually gets underway, O’Sullivan, 15, will drive for the renowned Carlin team in his first year of single-seater racing.
He said: “We were originally due to start racing at the end of March but it quickly became clear that would be impossible in the circumstances.
“August is a way off yet but I am already raring to go. Like thousands of racing drivers around the world, I’ve been keeping sharp on my sim - but nothing beats being in a real racing car.
“I’m keeping everything crossed we will be starting to win the battle against this awful disease by the summer and we can get back on track in August.”
Before the enforced lockdown, O’Sullivan impressed at the British F4 media day held at Donington Park, where he set the 4th and 2nd best times in the two official test sessions.
O’Sullivan was the youngest-ever winner of the Ginetta Junior Championship Rookie Cup in 2019 which, like British F4, is one of the key support events on the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) package.
